laundry day (2016)
My intention since the beginning of this journey of capturing images of Black bodies is always to recreate in a way unknown and unseen. The intersections lead the curiosity to use art as a means of telling untold stories. Beginning in my Junior year of undergrad, 2016, I began to explore themes of class from the scope of When we think of luxury or the construct of the upper class, who are we actually envisioning, and who decided this was the visual identity of it? ‘Laundry Day’ takes place in a local laundry mat with its muse, (describe the muse) being present in an act all classes must participate in, washing your clothes).
